And then, sadly, it was almost time to go. But before I headed back up the winding street to my car, I just had to catch a couple more of Athens' finest. Next up on my list was the Michael Guthrie band, classic rockers who gave us some bumpin' tunes with a little taste of southern flair to them. Their sound had the whole crowd under their spell, and I've got to say, the music definitely made me want to jump up and dance. It was brilliant! Then, a while later, I was lucky enough to hear Kaitlin Jones and the County Fair. Although I only caught a bit of her set, I loved the dark southern rock she gave us, and you could tell the crowd loved it too! As I made my way back home, my head filled with the amazing tunes of this town, I was simply and purely happy. Wow, what a spectacular Athfest!
